Great summer trail shoe These were comfortable straight out of the box for a 5-mile trail. I've had a hard time finding a shoe stable enough for my ankles on trails that's also lightweight and cool enough for summer temps, but these are exactly what I've been looking for.

Could be a lot better. I brought these for a recent hiking trip in the Smoky Mountains. They look great, seemed to have just what I needed in a trail shoe, but they failed completely in execution. I have a wide foot, and purchased a wide shoe as the width was comfortable in the store I got them from. On the trail, the width became too much as the shoe seemed to stretch leaving my feet to shift and slip within the shoes through out my hikes. This resulted in pain from the balls and heels of my feet up through my shins and ankles for the next several days. The insoles, as well, did not stand up to the wear and tear of everyday hiking. What support the shoe offers became painful after roughly an hour on the trails. The rugged outsole was not so rugged. I found my footing slipping on moist rocks and tree branches even with stability tested first before movement. On wet floors, with these shoes on, I feel like I'm ice skating. This is my second pair of Saucony trail shoes, and both were disappointments. I really wanted to like them, and am sad to be disappointed by them. I would not recommend them. If I hadn't worn them, they would be returned to where I purchased them.
