Technologies

4MM

Not durable Recommend only if you are willing to buy new every three months. Have worn the series for years and absolutely LOVE the shoe, but this pair has been the worst. Bought in April and have put fewer miles on these than any previous pair and the top mesh is already fraying. Side note - tongue is way too thick. Still a great shoe and light shoe, but those don't matter if the shoe doesn't stay together.

Great road racing shoe I love this shoe for races and speed work on the track. It's a great lighter weight option for those who do longer miles in something like the Kinvara. My one issue is the durability. I've raced a full and half in them with a handful of track workouts, around 80 miles total, and the upper is fraying in a few spots. I love the fit and feel though, just wish I could get some more miles from them.

Won't Last 4 Months I strictly wear the Type A for speed training and racing. Long distance training is done in another shoe. Although the Type A runs like the wind, I am severely disappointed with the quality of the upper material. I've had the shoe for less than 4 months, haven't put more than 100 miles on them, and the material is fraying across the top front on all sides of the toe box. My socks are visible through the holes all over the front of the shoe. Also the shoe tongue began tearing away from where it is attached after about 40 miles of wear. I feel that's unacceptable. Buyer beware.

please bring back the a5 this shoe is losing the spirit of the a line. it's still light, but it has none of the perfect fit, flexibility, and responsiveness that i first experienced with the a4 and the a5. the a5 was seriously the perfect shoe that i used for daily training and racing, i loved it so much. i hoarded pairs of it and sadly ran out... i've had a pair of the a6 and now a pair of the a7, and i'm sad to say it's been a steady decline since the a5. this shoe feels clunkier, less responsive, and the upper is not a snug fit that you don't even think about during runs. it feels overengineered, kind of 'more is more', other than the weight of the shoes. i agree with the other review to say... please bring back the a5.

Good shoe but not the true A series I train on asphalt, grass, and astro turf in this shoe. I’ve been a long time wearer and believer of the A5 and A6 series...so sad to see them go. This shoe is of amazing quality as always. It’s also a little bit of a hybrid A5 and A6 but lacks in a few areas that those had: 1. There is a bit more stability on the bottom but for a race shoe, you need the flexibility of the sole and this is too stiff. 2. The tongue is WAY too thick and big for the lightweight, slim, and minimal design of the shoe. It should’ve matched what the A5 and A6 had which was a slim comfortable tongue that NEVER slid around. You didn’t even know it was there. The A series slides all the way to the side and is SO annoying that it’s uncomfortable after a while. 3. Why does the shoe color have to be so neon? Very distracting and not fun to wear but of course bright shoes aren’t my style of training shoe. All-in-all...I’ll be wearing this shoe for 2016 because you can’t find the old versions in my size but PLEASE bring back the A5 and/or A6 series!
