Technologies

4MM

Type A back on Top I have been using Type A for many years (from Type A4-Type A) and glad to see my favorite mid-distance racer is back on top. Previous iteration of Type A had a lot of issues primarily in regards to the top material where it rips / tears on the outer sides of forefoot and sometimes big toe area. Saucony released at least 1 update to the previous Type A top material but the top tearing persisted. I have put a good 80 miles on the new Type A8 and loving it. I was initially a little concerned with the change in sole. My only slight gripe is that I prefer a firmer ride (less lateral forefoot roll) and felt the new sole provides a slightly softer ride as compared to Type A4-6).

Great shoe. One flaw. Probably my favorite running shoe ever. Super comfortable. Lightweight. Love it. One complaint - the tongue is too short - the laces ride up over the top of the tongue on every single run which then rubs on my foot. Make the tongue 1cm longer and its absolutely perfect.

Excellent comeback The new Type A8 is an excellent comeback after the not so fun TypeA. The A8 is very similar to the A6 except they fit better, have a bit more snap and are an absolute joy to run in, no matter the distance. The sole seems to last longer than the A6 and the upper is the best pair of slippers that I've ever had the pleasure to run in. PLEASE OFFER IN ANOTHER COLOR/S. I bought ever color of the A6. Thank you Saucony for this fantastic update!

This may be the best running shoe I have ever worn The A8 may be the closest thing to a perfect running shoe I have ever worn. As some background, I have been running for more than thirty years, and for the last 3 years I have been averaging about 50 miles per week. I am 6' and weigh 160. I am a big fan of Saucony shoes, and have worn the various iterations of the Kinvara as my every day trainer for the last 3 years. I have been using the A racing shoes from the A5 on for all races from 5ks to marathons. I really liked the A5 and A6 (I ran two 3:06 marathons in the A6), but did not like the A. The A8, though is a dream. I have only had the pair for 3 weeks, but have already run 50 miles in them (I can't see any significant wear), including a 1/2 marathon, and I just finished a 14 mile long run. They are a dream. The fit is perfect and I almost can't tell they are on. The cushioning for me is just right so that I feel the road, but not really the shoe. I cold do all of my training and racing in these shoes.

Rocky theme song should play when you lace these up :) I've only put 50 miles on these so far, and am absolutely loving them. The Fastwitch is my go-to trainer, but these are a joy to run in... it's hard to wear anything else. The uppers are super soft and the shoes are incredibly light. So far I have no issues with cracking or tearing, and I have a bit wider of a foot. The base of the shoe is firm but not hard. They are sharp looking shoes too, better in person than on screen. If you're looking for a lightweight road racing/ tri shoe, give these a serious consideration. For the tri-people, I've run about 12mi in these without socks and have not had issues with rubbing or scratchy seems.
