As good as it gets! Ive not run in Peregrines before so cannot compare to previous models but these were a joy to run in today. Ordered yesterday and promptly arrived this morning (10/10 for promt service!) and so i took them out for a ten miler round the cotswold hils. Here are my findings. 1.) Wide toe box - I have really wide feet and so have always struggled to get decent fitting shoes. These were snug but comfy on me and should be fine for most people. I suffered no discomfort over 10 miles or any rubbing around the little toe. Compared to my previous inov8 roclites these were positively roomy. 2.) Traction - Brilliant! Given all the melted snow we have just had and the muddy conditions these gave positive grip through the slush, over icy tarmac and up hill through open fields and on muddy single track. Up hill, down hill and sharp turns all done with confidence. 3.) No Rock Plate - No problem. The run I've just done was over rocky single track and forest trails with roots. The shoe was secure and I felt no sharp pain from landing on rocks. Yes you can feel them obviously but no discomfort occurred from repetitive bashings! 4.) Ride - Fast! Because of the grip and lightweight build of the shoe i was able to drop the hammer and really go for it in confidence over quite challenging terrain. The shoes are very flexible swell and really allow for quick running. The parts of my route that were on tarmac were equally comfortable and I could have been mistaken for wearing my Freedom ISOs Overall a really great experience for my first 10 miler in Peregrines and I would recommend to anyone. Whilst not as stiff as Roclites or other Inov8's they are infinitely wider than my salomon sense Pro's and are great for typical English countryside trail running. Comfortable, fast and grippy. Winner!
