GREAT SPIKE, LIGHT I bought these spikes in mid august for my xc season. I tried the on in the store and was blown away by how light they were, and I loved the ISOfit in the upper. I used them in my first 2 races and PRd hugely each time. I used them for more races and continued to PR. The upper is AMAZING. It really locks your foot down if you tie it right! It looks sick too. I have the orange ones and I love how they look and I haven't seen anyone else with these spikes. They're missing out. The traction is great as expected. Having 6 spikes vs 4 like most other xc spikes makes a huge difference. Although, I switched out the 1/4 inch spikes they came with for 1/2 inch spikes. Unparalleled grip. Bottom Line: Great upper, Great traction, Good cushion, LIGHTEST SPIKE EVER; they make you feel so fast. Baby them so you can keep them in good condition for as long as possible.

The perfect XC spike. I bought a pair of these last year and raced in them all througout the season. After graduating high school, I broke them out for an impromptu race and forgot just how glorious these spikes are. They're as light as any XC spike can get, they're surprisingly durable, extremely flexible, and they have great grip. What sets this spike apart from a lot of other spikes is the 3/4 Pebax plate. This also makes it a pretty versatile spike, as you can take it on the track for the 3K/Steeple/5K/10K if you like a little more cushioning for the longer events or grip and drainage for the Steeplechase. That being said, it's not a super aggressive plate, as it provides just enough torque to propel you forward and keep your legs moving efficiently. The ISOFIT upper is a dream. It's not constrictive. It molds to your foot beautifully and doesn't hurt your feet, as you can really dial in the fit by tailoring each finger of the ISOFIT cage to your specific foot shape. After a year of battery and abuse to these spikes, I'm only now starting to notice some ripping on the sides, but that's a major overhaul from the first Carrera that seemed to be very fragile. The only thing I can think of to make this spike better is to either have customizable colorways or have more color options to choose from. Looks aside, the Carrera XC 2 is a great, affordable option if you're looking for a lightweight, flexible, and all-around monster of an XC/distance spike.

Beastly Ran these in Club XC Nationals in SF and they performed brilliantly. Light, form fitting, no power loss. They also hold up well in crummy conditions. On the track, they are extremely sensitive to spike length. Coach mistakenly screwed in a 3/8 and I felt it in two seconds. Stopped the workout and replaced with a 1/4. Tremendous feel.

PERFECT SPIKES! These spikes have no flaws whatsoever! They are the most comfortable spikes I've ever worn, they are extremely lightweight, and have great traction. I broke my school's cross country course record by 18 seconds in these spikes! Some might say they are flimsy, but that is what makes them so lightweight and awesome. Don't hesitate, buy them now.

Great flat, bad spike. First off, I would like to commend Saucony on the weight of this spike. They feel like little more than socks in the hand. To this end, they are far too delicate for a real cross-country race. My home course has tree roots, boardwalks, and some fist-sized stones in places. A half mile into my first race on the course, I felt a sharp pain in the ball of my right foot. I identified the problem instantly, even while running; one of the spikes had become tilted so that the socket was pushing up into the shoe. It took about 10 minutes of wrestling with pliers to get the offending spike out and the socket back (mostly) into position. I would highly recommend using blanks (not provided by Saucony) in place of spikes on any course with surfaces other than dirt or grass, or finding a different spike. I will now use these as flats, but severely disappointed in Saucony for the poorly secured sockets in a pricey spike like this. Also, is there a warranty covering this issue? I like companies who stand behind their products. (Osprey packs, thank you.)
