Shoes with a 4mm heel-to-toe offset deliver a more natural ride, letting your feet and body do more work while relying less on the shoes’ cushioning and stability features.

Saucony Breathable Technology

Breathing is good, whether you’re a human or a piece of running gear. The materials in this product are designed to move moisture away from the skin, to keep you running dry and comfortable.

Great addition to the classic Kinvara line

I owned the Saucony Kinvara 2 and 4. I ran about 800km in both. The Kinvara 7 Runshield immediately feels familiar: this is definitely a Kinvara shoe, meaning it is light and very comfortable. It might be somewhat tighter around the foot but that's probably because of it's a brand new shoe (compared to my previous pair with 800km mileage). Note that all Kinvara shoes are about 1/2 to 1 size smaller than your regular size. I'm usually wearing EU size 42, but all my Kinvara's had to be EU size 43. Keep that in mind when ordering them online, really. I really like the laces on these shoes: they are light, feel very strong, and once you close them they stay closed. Kinvara laces always have been great, but the ones on the K7 are even better. Running in the Kinvara 7's also feels very familiar which is a good thing: don't change a winning team! They might feel a bit more cushioned than my Kinvara 4's, but again: 800km wear an tear probably accounts for that. So in that sense the Kinvara 7 more or less the same as a new Kinvara 4 I would say. There are some reports of the Kinvara 7 being more stiff and harder hitting than previous versions but that's not my experience. Keep in mind that this is primarily a natural running shoe: these are less cushioned than a regular running shoe, and you should transition carefully from a normal heelstrike to a midfoot natural running strike. My feet are sweating more in the K7 than my previous K4. I guess that's due to to the Runshield rain protection. It's not too annoying but I remember really liking the ventilation in the K2, and to a lesser extent in the K4. It's a tradeoff between ventilation and protection against the elements. Since I'm running in all weather all year I rather had them rain resistant for a change. If you don't care about that just get the regular K7's (and pay less). I can't say I am able to feel the Everun material used in the K7. I also find it somewhat strange they used it in the heel region: this is a natural running shoe for a midfoot strike... Either way, it can't hurt to use better quality materials, might give us 1000km mileage instead of 800km :) Overall, if you already liked previous Kinvara's then you will like the new Kinvara 7 Runshield as well. If you're transitioning from a traditional shoe to your first natural running shoe you will be very pleased as well. I've run with the Kinvara line since 2011 and never went back to anything else. A pair of these is highly, highly recommended. (PS: I am not affiliated in any way to Saucony and I paid for a pair with my own money).
