The Perfect Trail Shoe

I've run trails in many different types of shoes (most recently Salomon Speed Cross 3 and NB 101), but I love the Saucouny Peregrine 6. They have the traction of the Speed Cross without the "chunky" feeling, and the light, responsive feeling of the NB 101, but with far better traction. I've run a few hundred miles on very technical, rocky, root covered, Northeast-style trails and they've held up great. The only issue that I've had with them is the toe guard peeling away on one shoe, but that was fixed in a minute with Shoe Goo. Plus, I'm not convinced that this was a flaw in the shoe anyway, but more likely the result of a one-time event. All in all, it doesn't get much better than this shoe. Light enough, with just the right amount of cushion and drop. I have even used them for some light road running and they responded just fine. Definitely my "go to" shoe these days for the trails!
