Technology

4MM

Saucony 4mm Technology

Shoes with a 4mm heel-to-toe offset deliver a more natural ride, letting your feet and body do more work while relying less on the shoes’ cushioning and stability features.

ALL-TERRAIN

Saucony All-Terrain Technology

High traction outsoles, protective overlays and rugged construction take the performance of our RunAnyWhere line to the next level. This is what happens when real runners make trail shoes.

FLEXFILM

Saucony Flexfilm Technology

A strong, lightweight material is melded to the upper, which allows for fewer layers in the shoe. The result is a seamless, flexible feel.

PWRTRAC

Saucony PWRTRAC Technology

Tacky, durable rubber providing exceptional traction and abrasion resistance.

VIBRAM OUTSOLE

Saucony Vibram Technology

Vibram’s proprietary outsole technology provides high-traction, lightweight and protective elements, helping you conquer the trails with speed and confidence.

Peregrine 7 ICE+ Infograph

Cushioning

The underfoot feel and amount of impact protection provided by the compressing materials between the foot and running surface.

Support

The level of pronation control built into the shoe. Pronation is the inward rolling of the ankle through the gait cycle.

Offset

The difference in height between the heel thickness and forefoot thickness of the shoe.

The Grip Works I bought these for winter running in my town. Didn't want to wear spikes or coils grips on my shoes because I found myself running from ice to pavement to packed snow and back again. These shoes fit the bill for what I needed. The grip actually works, I went for a run the other day in a different pair of shoes and was slipping all over the place in them. Threw these back on and had no problems. My only complaint after about 75km of running in them is that I developed some tendon pain from my ankle to my knee, something I've never had before. I put my old pair of runners on for a run and the pain isn't as bad. I bought a pair of insoles, so hopefully they will help. I think maybe the shoe needs a bit more cushioning for running on pavement. I should say that I do have pretty flat feet, so maybe they aren't good for my foot type. I still recommend them though. Without them I'd be stuck sitting inside this winter instead of being able to go for runs.

My favorite in many many years. I love the Saucony Peregrine Ice+. For me, these shoes are perfection, or at least as close to it as possible. I've had these about a month now, and they have seen more snow and ice than most people's boots have seen in a year. They grip very good in just about every single surface (other than wet slippy tiles). They keep my feet dry, they feel as soft and light as my most comfortable slippers, and I made these my everything this winter sneaker (I wear them on runs, I wear them to work (IT - very lax dress code), I wear them to the store, and just about everywhere I go. They are even giving my Merrell boots some competition when I go out to shovel snow. I love the styling of these shoes too. It is darn near impossible to find sneakers in a mostly black with some light blue running through them. I love this two tone combo and find them to be ultra sharp looking as well as incredibly practical and great to run in too. My coworker liked them so much, she went and even bought a pair. She loves these shoes just as much as I love them. Downside.... maybe the price since I would probably buy a second pair of these.

Makes me look forward to snow days So far, I've put 10 miles (2 runs) on these shoes and can't wait to add more. They feel light and are very comfortable. On my runs, I tried to hit as many different surfaces as I could to see how they handled. Performance was great on packed snow, ice and dirt trail. I had no trouble with them on pavement as well. As is to be expected, the only difficult patch I hit was attempting to run through a few inches of fresh powder, but that's not the fault of this shoe. Overall, I felt very confident with the traction provided, even on the more treacherous surfaces.

Awesome concept, poor build quality I wanted to really like these shoes. The Vibram Arctic Grip soles were a major factor in buying these shoes and it does work. Unfortunately the build quality was not what I would have expected from a high-end, relatively expensive, running shoe. After one run the interior lining around the heels began to peel away. Also, I was surprised by the amount of wear on the soles after a six mile run over mixed surfaces including ice, snow and asphalt. In all I was impressed with the concept, but ended up returning the shoes due to the durability concerns.

I'm a believer Bought these because I didn't want to stop running in the winter and a pair of trail shoes aren't that good on bare pavement and ice. Nobody in my town clears their walks of ice and usually in the winter I end up working out indoors, with these however I can continue to run this winter. The tread feels almost like a rubbery sandpaper, but whatever it actually is, it works. My last run I was running on bare ice and it felt as if it was pavement. You still need to be conscious of when your toe is leaving the ground, it'll slip a bit then. I'm not sure about the durability as these are brand new, so we'll see in a few months. I also like that they aren't bright colours, not everything needs to be neon! I have a normal pair of saucony runners, and they feel very similar to these.
