Great looking shoe. - by , Oct 27, 2020
4/ 5 Stars
I bought these shoes after using the Shoe Advisor. I've been wearing a different brand of shoe and felt it was time for a change. Out of the box they felt a little tight around my toes. I ran a 5k in them, they felt comfortable but my toes felt a little squashed. After wearing them for 20 miles in total now they still feel a little tight but I think they are wearing in nicely, no blisters.

I stockpiled Freedom 2's -- they were my favorite running shoes -- so it took me a while to try on Freedom 3's. After a few runs, I like these more. Plusher inside, softer ride And while I miss the raves for my Freedom 2's citron laces, the Freedom 3's blackouts suit my wintery mood :-)

Love the update - by , Oct 25, 2020

Got them 15 days ago and have run 105km with them already. I've had two pairs of Freedom ISO 2 before these. I love them. They are stil quite comfy, but are snappier, and faster... They provide the same sock-like fit with the nicely snug upper. And the heel cup is better constructed (the Freedom ISO 2's heels had no structure). The addition of wear pads on the soles is a nice plus... I barely got 600km out f each of the preceding Freedom ISO 2s. Hope/think these will last longer.

As a cross country runner these shoes work absolutely perfect - by , Sep 29, 2020

These shoes do not disappoint. Haven't had them for too long but I've only seen good things from them. Perfect for my distance runs on dirt roads and my speed workouts on the track.

Did not last more that 50 miles - by , Sep 29, 2020

The Freedom 3's were very disappointing. I was only able to get 48 miles out of them before the tread was gone. I was able to get 450 miles out of my Freedom 1 and 2's. The new tread was also very slick on gravel and wet surfaces. Wish they would change it back. I should be able to get more miles for the price.

Nice shoe, but miss some features I liked. - by , Sep 05, 2020

Nice overall shoe. Better balance from previous freedom, but I miss the iso fit. It gave me a better lockdown fit without heel slippage. No matter how I lace the freedom 3’s, I still get heel slippage. Only other negative is color schemes. I miss the blue/citron. I had 3 pairs of that color and I alway got compliments on them. Overall a nice comfortable shoe with boring colors.

The freedom three’s have superior features. - by , Aug 24, 2020

I hope Saucony doesn’t change anything with the freedom 3’s . This shoe has everything in all of the design from the form fit comfort upper’s to the power run midsole that provides both cushion and responsiveness for both speed workouts and longer training runs. The new technology in the outsole has great traction and longevity to put in about 500 miles. I have bought 4 pair of these neutral shoes with 4mm. drop that makes them great for a fast cadence.

Great sole and forefoot, problematic heel - by , Aug 21, 2020
4/ 5 Stars
This is an almost perfect shoe for me. I loved the Freedom ISO 1 & 2, and this improved on them in many ways, but the heavily structured heel (especially compared to the prior two iterations) knocks a star off for me. The new midsole is great providing a nice balance for both fast and slow days, and the combined blown rubber and crystal rubber sole has better traction in the wet than prior versions. Additionally, while I liked the glove like ISO-fit, this is a great alternative and the upper appears a bit more durable. However, while the new heel structure keeps the foot reasonable well locked in, it took all of four or five medium length (6-10 mile) runs to wear straight through the spandex-like fabric lining the heal cup and since doing that, it has created a massive hot spot just to the side of the achilles tendon yielding some gnarly blisters. I actually think this version is overly structured compared to versions 1 & 2, and this has led to the problem. For me, maybe sizing up another half size will help. For most it will be a great lightweight option, but I may be looking elsewhere for my next pair, seeking a bit less structured heel.
