Excellent gravel shoe! - by , Sep 07, 2019
4/ 5 Stars
Most of my running is on gravel and dirt roads, so I've been looking for a shoe that works well for that as well as my additional treadmill workouts. I've found a winner with the Guide ISO 2 TR. This shoe provides enough stability for my flat, severely pronating feet without the weight seen in most brands of this category. The soles are not aggressively lugged, but still handle gravel and light trail conditions nicely. My only wish for this shoe would be a little more cushioning for high mileage days. Despite being listed as "plush", I probably won't use them for runs longer than 8-10 miles due to foot fatigue. Otherwise, this is a well constructed, responsive shoe. Nice job, Saucony!!

Slippery Footing - by , Aug 17, 2019

I've been buying Guides for my road running for years, so when I saw they were made for the trail, I was very excited. Slipped them on this morning for an 8 mile run, and headed out the door. The first few miles we're ok, they felt slightly loose but figured they would be breaking in. This loosening continued however, so I tied them tighter. Ran through a stream at mile 4 and immediately I felt uneasy, with my heels sliding left and right as I hopped over rocks. Mile 5-6 I ended up rolling my ankle several times due to the heel sliding. Rest of the run ended up being a hike due to the uneasy feeling. I really dislike these shoes and feel like I can no longer wear them without injuring myself.

New favorite shoe found - by , Jul 27, 2019

I wear a 10.5 in most shoes and size up to 11 in brooks for width. Since Brooks dropped the medial post in Adrenaline, had to find another stability show for road to trail. 10.5 Guide fits fine in length but is narrow. Decided to brute force it into compliance and after 3 runs it is now comfortable in width. Sole is great for traction. More firm and stable than the Adrenaline. Slightly stiff flex in the forefoot results in a very small amount of heel lift. Upper is thin and stretchy. This is comfortable and ok for road but can reach it's limits holding your foot on the sole for trail use going down steeps or cornering. Overall, this is the best shoe I've found for my purpose. More colors and wide width please!

Solid Trail Shoe - by , Jun 05, 2019
5/ 5 Stars
Just got back into trail running after an injury and needed a stable shoe for rocky trails. This shoe delivered everything I wanted. The rock guard provides just enough protection without adding too much weight. The sole is super grippy and the stability made running on rocky trails a lot more enjoyable. The integral tongue does a good job of keeping trail grit out of the interior of the shoe. I wish I'd found this shoe years ago!

Not happy with fit. - by , Jun 04, 2019

Decent construction quality, however the right shoe is approximately a half-size smaller than the left shoe. Didn’t fully realize it until after my first run. Fifth pair of Saucony shoes, first time dissatisfied:(

The Ideal Road to Trail Shoe - by , May 13, 2019

I wore these nearly out of the box for a trail 10k I had signed up for in another city. Had the order sent to the hotel as I knew my size in Saucony, which was a real leap of faith. Well they worked perfectly then, and they've gotten better as I've had a chance to actually break them in. My "trail runs" where I live are pretty much always road to trail. And while this shoe works nicely on the road, it really shines on trails. Billy goat grip up and down the hills, but with just enough stability to keep my pronation in check. Yet, the lugs aren't too aggressive so they feel comfortable on the road.

A True Do-All Shoe! - by , Apr 04, 2019

After trying multiple other top running brands I've finally found THE ONE! As a newer runner (2 years running) with extremely flat feet and subject to overpronation issues, I've struggled with finding a shoe that keeps me running pain free. My main interest is in trail running but due to my location my training consists of mostly gravel roads and some paved bike trails. This shoe seems to do well in all the terrain I've encountered so far, which includes pavement, gravel and snow packed trails. The plushness of this shoe is not marshmallow soft like some other "plush" shoes I've tried but rather more of a firm, more responsive plush. At first I wasn't sure but after 80+ miles on them I really like the perfect balance of firmness yet plush characteristics of this shoe. As I mentioned previously, this shoe really does do a little bit of everything very well. So much so I've ordered a second pair and contemplating ordering a third pair in case they change up the recipe! Hopefully this shoes remains unchanged for some time to allow me to build up an arsenal of them! I would definitely recommend this shoe for anyone with flat feet looking for a good supportive cross-over do-all type shoe.

I had knee problems after a 50 mile ultra marathon went bad several years ago, around 2013, when I went to a running store and was fitted with the Saucony Guide. After that my knee problems went away and I have bought a new pair every year since. I really like these shoes because they have been consistently very good, I am almost nervous to try any other shoe.
