OCR choice - by , May 15, 2019
5/ 5 Stars
I’ve been running OCR races for several years and after trying my first pair of Peregrines 4 a few years ago, they became my preferred shoe out on the course. I find the tread to be really aggressive in the mud plus they have really excellent heal traction on slippery grassy downhill slopes. Water drainage is good and for my foot I get get them on comfortably tight to keep the rocks out. I swap out the in-souls with a gel, but other than that I’m really happy with their performance. I probably should have gotten new ones sooner, but I liked them so much they were absolutely trashed on the top side. So I finally broke down and got the Peregrine 8 and they are exceeding my expectations.

What a Bargain! - by , May 03, 2019
4/ 5 Stars
Mine were obtained through a stroke of serendipity. I found mine almost brand new at the bottom of the Weeki Wachee River. It a spring-fed river and the water is crystal clear. I was kayaking and saw them in about 10' of water. The laces were tied so the pair were connected. They probably fell off someone's paddleboard. As luck would have it they fit perfectly (10.5). I wear them almost every day. I run cross-country in a park behind my house. It's Florida so the terrain is a mix of sugar sand and hard-packed dirt. Someone mentioned that they aren't great for pavement. I agree. They are fine if you are walking but they do feel a bit soft for running. I've been putting about 20 miles a week on them and they are holding up great. Usually, the sand wears the soles down pretty quickly. I didn't think they would hold up as well because the soles are soft. They are also great on the boat because they grip the deck very well. They are the most comfortable running shoes I've ever had. I have tested these shoes as much as anyone can test a shoe. They get dirty, wet (salt and fresh water), muddy and all I do is hose them off and let them dry. So while these shoes cost nothing more than a quick swim, I will replace them with another Saucony product when they finally wear out.

Favorite all around shoe! - by , Apr 30, 2019
4/ 5 Stars
I'm on my 4th pair, with only two other brands in between (and those have now been relegated to yard work shoes). I run/hike year round on dirt, gravel, snow and mud and always feel confident in my grip and control. I even throw gators on and run deep snow in them. The tread pattern is great for up AND down the usual terrain. I emphasize that because I find other sole patterns to be lacking in the "slip and fall on yer ass" factor when descending loose or icy slopes. I do wish the uppers lasted as long as the sole! I have 3 pair with usable tread left but somewhat shredded uppers. Duct tape is my friend. For me these have been the motivation shoes.

To stiff - by , Apr 15, 2019

The shoe is to stiff. I feel like I am walking with boards strapped to my feet. My other Saucony shoes have always been very comfortable that is why I tried these. Not comfortable at all. Attempting to break them in over time.

These are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn. The quality is above what I could have expected.

One of my top 3 favorite trail shoes. - by , Mar 20, 2019

Off and on run in these for 2+ years and always come back for a totally solid trail shoe. Have others I like - but really hard to beat for an all around straight forward trail shoe.

Great shoes. - by , Mar 20, 2019

Great shoes. No complaints. I've had my current pair exactly a year and I still enjoy wearing/running in them. I like the shoe so much I came back and bought a second pair because of the year end discount!

Great trail shoe but not durable - by , Mar 09, 2019
3/ 5 Stars
I love the peregrine shoes. I had 6, 7 and 8. I've tried other trail shoes and I definitely think the peregrine is the best fit for me. This shoe in terms of grip, heel comfort, stability is great. Just feels a tiny bit wide on the toes. But I wouldn't change it for any other brand. It just has one big problem: The holes on the upper surface appear immediately. Within the first 50 miles I ended up with two holes at each shoe. One on top of the big foot, and the other on the outer front section of the shoe due to friction between the shoe and the bushes. Since then I've been using these shoes with additional ventilation, as everything else was great and would be a shame to have to bin them. Overall: a great shoe that needs a stronger upper mesh to battle extra big toes and prickly bushes.

Not what I expected - by , Mar 01, 2019
3/ 5 Stars
I had read some great reviews on this shoe but was quite disappointed. Fit is tight and narrow and not very comfortable. I also wanted to change the laces but the lace holes are too narrow to replace the laces. After a mile or so on the trail my feet were aching badly and I was glad to get the shoes off. Probably won’t purchase Saucony again.

These shoes are perfect for trail running not pavement - by , Feb 16, 2019

I enjoy these shoes because they have minimal components the tread is soft and gripable for trail running the shoes are light and stable with the right amount of cushion. you will not like these shoes for pavement the tread is to soft and they will feel skwishi but on dirt and light gravel they are amazing
