Maybe impossible to keep the great styling but extra cushioning support on the bottom would be nice.

Switchback is worth the purchase - by , Oct 11, 2020

The Switchback 2 is an innovation to crossover running shoes. The ankle support was surprising, along with the overall comfort, these shoes become an easy decision for an all day wear. The only drawback is the extra room around the toes. However, you would possibly need it if you test your endurance on the trails (some swelling needs abit more room). I love the Switchback series as a casual daywear shoe that allows me transition to hiking a trail without thinking twice.

Great update, now it's an all around mountain shoe - by , Oct 05, 2020
5/ 5 Stars
The first version of this shoe was good, but main qualms were the minimal midsole and heel counter made it good for shorter, groomed trails only. Fast forward to the V2, and here is an all-around trail running shoe! I ran in them over the weekend and am impressed! After an easier 7 mile run, I decided to try them while running the Boulder Skyline (17 miles / 5600 ft climbing and loss) with a mixture of technical scrambling and rocky sections and fast singletrack. Fit: this really stood out for me; I was astounded by the fit. It hugs my feet perfectly and gives me confidence on technical terrain. I did not think about rolling an ankle since I feel so connected to the shoe. Grip: Grip on rocks was great. It felt like it grabbed onto the rock scrambling up and down. Ride: This was another big improvement from V1 for me. I liked V1 but do not think I would have considered it for a 17-mile run. While this version is lighter, it seemed to be more protective and delivered a fun ride for miles and miles. Overall: The V1 was good but the V2 knocked it out of the park. This makes the shoe a really solid all-around trail shoe that makes you run fast.

One big minus - by , Oct 01, 2020

first of all I'm sorry about the bad review but I have to tell the truth, not to make you guys look bad but hopefully to help you improve your product. I bought the original switchback iso and love them, love the boa technology but the only problem with these that they arent waterproof I got excited when the switchback 2 got released and bought them right away, as soon as they came I "tried to try them on" but failed! I loosened the boa wiring all the way, pulled the flap as far as I could but still couldn't get my foot in. The whole point for having the boa technology is to be able to put them on and take them off easily, but there's no stretch in the ankle area so its almost impossible to put them on. I will have to return them and very disappointed. Hopefully there will be an improvement with the next boa model

Great fit and feel - by , Sep 28, 2020

Just got my pair today! The BOA is awesome and I can feel the improved heel lock and overall connection with the entire shoe with that system . Mine fit about a 1/2 size too small but still good. The outsole is excellent and I like the overall flexibility/responsiveness of the product. Nice job Saucony!
