Runs a little big - by , Mar 08, 2019
1/ 5 Stars
Love the style of the shoe. Had to wear them around to see if I felt comfortable running in them, that’s when I realized they were big. Gave me blisters on my heel from rubbing. Trying to get used to them since I’m stuck with them. Didn’t think they were gonna be this loose after wearing them for a little while. Currently wear Altras for trails but since my street shoes are Freedoms ISO, which I love (have 5 pairs) I was hoping to make the change to Saucony for the trails. Should of ordered a half size smaller.☹️

Poor quality - by , Sep 09, 2019

I was really happy with these shoes until they ripped out with only 88 training miles on them. I planned on using them for a 100k in October, but they're definitely not built for ultras if they rip out after such low mileage. Disappointed because I loved the lacing system.

Love BOA lacing - by , Jul 31, 2019
2/ 5 Stars
The shoe is lightweight and grippy. Good tread for the trails and I can feel the ground because they are supple. Quick on and off and adjusting laces on the go is the best part about the shoe. They run a 1/2 size bigger than expected. Return policy is awesome . Unfortunately the heals blistered the backs of my ankles pretty bad - not enough padding and the seams aren’t smooth. Once my heals heal - going to give them anther go with thicker socks because I really like the shoe minus the blisters, and would like to use them for Xterra off-road triathlon

New Favorite Trail Shoe! - by , Feb 19, 2019
5/ 5 Stars
Finally a trail shoe that gets out of my way! Fast, lightweight, flexible, and grippy - this shoe has it all. LOVE: BOA lacing system - I was nervous about the BOA and secretly afraid it would cut into my foot, however this ended up being one of my favorite aspects as it perfectly and quickly dials in the fit every single time. Tread pattern - it's just enough without being too much. Flexibility - this shoe moves the way my foot moves and allows me to feel the ground better than more stiff trail shoes. Weight - super light and nimble shoe for running fast. Once they are on my feet, I never think about them again - this is my definition of a great shoe! Feels good on pavement - I frequently run short stretches of pavement in order to link together a few trails, and this shoe feels great on pavement as well. I wouldn't do a road run in these of course, but when I do hit some pavement, the Switchback doesn't fight me. FIT: Toebox is more roomy than the Peregrine 8 (which is my other favorite trail shoe) but yet the BOA system dials down just right through the arch to prevent any sliding. Length and width are both true to size. All in all, I haven't been this excited about a shoe in a long time. It's something truly different from other trail shoes, and I've gone through many different shoes in search of a concept that I had in my head. The Switchback has turned out to be that ideal shoe I have been wanting, and I can't wait to try them in some races! Thanks, Saucony, for a fast, lightweight trail shoe!

great new look - by , Feb 27, 2019

Always buy the Saucony brand for the fit and comfort. Sometimes admittedly, the colors/styles are not the best to my eye. With this new product they hit the mark. Great color option and I love the new "lacing", which is not with laces! A little knob that tightens the shoe around your foot. The bottom has terrific deep treads that I feel helps me feel more stable. Congrats to the team at Sacony who made all this happen.

Best Trail Shoe Ever! - by , Mar 14, 2019

The switchbacks are FAST on trails. I ran a trail race in mud, ice, and snow- the boa lacing system kept the shoe secured to my feet and I didn’t have to worry about laces! The support and cushion is amazing and I loved the grippy sole. I have previously run in Saucony peregrines and the switchbacks are a great alternative! I can’t wait to get them in a new color!

From Altra to Saucony - by , Apr 13, 2019

Ran In Altra for over 15 years, decided that I maybe time to switch. Wow! These are amazing! It’s been an easy transition so far. Went for 10miles today and loved them! Very light weight and great foot comfort. This may sound like a stupid question but how do you “loosen” the shoe lace? Sorry just got them yesterday 🤣

Thanks for the awesome review! Great question about the BOA lacing system too! If you pull out on the disc you should hear a pop - that will release the lace. To tighten press the disc back in and dial to the desired setting. Give us a ring at 800.282.6575, we are here to help!

Zippy little trail shoe - by , May 08, 2019
5/ 5 Stars
This is an incredibly lightweight trail shoe. I enjoy being able to adjust the tightness on the fly. I recently ran a 50k in this shoe, through many water crossings and it dried out so quickly. The shoe is very minimal and the tread on the bottom is designed to keep your shoes from packing mud on the bottom and getting heavy. I would love to see Saucony add color options to this shoe in the future.

Amazing all around trail to road shoe. - by , Jun 07, 2019
5/ 5 Stars
I bought mine on a bucking trip and wore them more than any other shoes I brought. Light weight, excellent grip on rocks and trail, comfortable with plenary of toe box space. I have a wide toe box and this shoe is very accommodating. Saucony always comes through for me, I’ve been a steadfast fan since my first pair IV Varata’s. The lacing system on the Switchback was great for adjusting.

Love the BOA feature - by , Aug 01, 2019

Super comfortable! I was unsure whether the BOA feature could tighten the lace adequately, so this was just one of three pairs in this particular order. As it turns out, I LOVE the feature and for those of us with arthritic fingers, it is truly a wonderful invention. I am now returning the other two and will be ordering another pair of these. An added bonus, makes my large foot look smaller! Please add more colors to the arsenal. Thank you.
