The transition from winter trail running to spring trail running brings joy for some and sorrow for others.
We have become accustomed to running in snowshoes, traction devices or screw shoes. Winter brings about a new training program for many trail runners. The focus shifts to strength training and cross training with many of the winter activities: snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, fat biking and the like. We allow nagging injuries to heal as we plan our schedule for the new year.
For most of us, what does change as spring pokes through is the terrain. We move from snow-covered trails to hard icy-packed ground, to soft slippery mud and yuck, and finally some stable trail conditions.
The 2021 Saucony Peregrine 11 Collection covers all bases:
- The Peregrine 11 ST utilizes deeper directional PWRTRAC lugs specifically made to grip muddy wet trails.
- The Peregrine 11 GTX provides Gore-Tex waterproof protection to keep you dry running through the puddles.
- The Peregrine 11 is ready for action for those that want to hit the trails hard. Aggressive lugs, a PWRTRAC tacky rubber outsole and a rock plate make this the go-to shoe for tackling any trail and the perfect race model. Like bears coming out of hibernation, we unpeel the layers of apparel, we shed all the winter paraphernalia and we test how our winter training prepared us for the spring terrain.
One thing for certain, dirt power is as good as it gets.
