Holes after 6 weeks I wanted to love these shoes! I tried them on in a local shop, and loved them right away. They feel great, and I was told that they are more durable than most shoes, and are meant to last much longer. However, after putting less than 300 miles on them, there are holes starting to form in the upper mesh. There is a hole above my right big toe, and one on the outer side of my left shoe. With such a big price tag, I am disappointed to say the least! I have been a long distance runner for several years, and I have never torn through a pair of shoes before. I was fitted at my local shop for these, so I do not think the fit is the problem. I do not run on particularly rugged terrain either- almost exclusively roads, so I don't think my use case is the problem either. While I commend the breathable upper, it HAS to be more durable than this! This is my first pair of Saucony's and so far I think I will be switching back to a different brand. That said, I loved everything else about these and just wish they made the upper part as durable as the rest of the shoe. I would not recommend these.

Painful even during short runs I bought these shoes about a month ago as I was starting training for my third marathon. I have worn the Kinvara for my last two marathons and all but one of about 15 half marathons. I loved the Freedom in the store and read amazing reviews so I set out on my first run so excited. About 4 miles in, the bottoms of my feet were in so much pain I had to stop - walking back home even proved difficult. I figured they just needed to be broken in with some short runs and wasn't too concerned. Unfortunately, for the last month I have done my best to break them in with very little luck. After about 5 miles, I am in too much discomfort to run any further. I have two months before the marathon and unless I see some major improvements in the next week or so, I will be looking for a new shoe. Super disappointed because I have had such luck with Saucony in the past.

Excellent in Dry weather For the last year and a half I have owned probably more than a dozen different brands/models of shoes, to try to fix / accommodate issues with my right foot. I now have 2 pair of these. I have to say that my 3/4 custom insoles fit perfectly in this shoe and it fits perfectly on my foot. Yes it does run a 1/2 size small but that seems to be typical of running shoes these days. BUT, the water issue with this shoes is something I have never before seen. Even running on a road that is damp, somehow the water wicks up into the shoe and soaks your foot. The top of my sock stays dry at first, but the bottom is very wet, and causes my insoles to be soaking wet also. I am in love with these shoes and will wear them in good weather, but this would be a kick ass shoe if Saucony could make them waterproof or prevent the water from wicking up the shoe from the road!

Great but runs small Bought this shoe in my normal size. Thought it was a little small. Kept trying to make it work. Definitely too small. Unfortunately the store I purchased them at won't let me exchange them for 1/2 size up. I wish they would have known they fit small before I purchased. Seems like a good marathon racing shoe. Not sure if I'll spend the money again to get correct size. Bummer.

Too small, want to love them I love the 4mm drop, the cushion, the style, all perfect for shorter runs. However I am disappointed in the construction because for $160, the last lace loop just kind of hangs there due to no stitching. Definitely little to no arch support and my toes were squished into the toe box. I'm a true 8 and sizing should be consistent across the board. I wanted to love them, but they are going back sadly.i think saucony is onto something if they can fix the toe box and sizing of the shoe!
