Saucony® and Westside Gunn Continue Creative Partnership with the Launch of the Grid Jazz 9 “Awesome God”
Inspired by the “Flygod Is An Awesome God” series, the latest drop blends luxury, art, and individuality through one of Saucony’s most expressive collaborations to date.
August 5, 2026 -- Saucony, a leading global performance running lifestyle brand, announces the next chapter in its ongoing partnership with Grammy-nominated artist, entrepreneur, and Griselda Records founder Westside Gunn with the launch of the Saucony Grid Jazz 9 “Awesome God.” Inspired by the themes and creative vision behind the Flygod Is An Awesome God trilogy, the design blends luxury, art, and street culture into a silhouette celebrating individuality and craftsmanship. With Awesome God – Part 3 on the horizon, where portions of the album were recorded in Saucony’s Boston Innovation Hub, the collaboration serves as a physical extension of the series’ highly anticipated final chapter.
The Westside Gunn x Saucony Grid Jazz 9 features a premium multi-tone faux fur upper paired with iridescent leather, ensuring no two pairs are exactly alike. A custom embroidered scorpion appears within the heel window, incorporating one of Gunn’s most recognizable personal motifs and a symbol deeply connected to his creative identity and the Griselda universe. Premium butter-soft leather throughout the collar, sockliner, and laces further elevates the luxury execution.
The Westside Gunn x Saucony Grid Jazz 9 “Awesome God” will launch globally through Saucony’s EQL raffle, Westside Gunn’s website (blientele.com), and select retailers on August 28, 2026. The release date carries special significance, as August 28 is officially recognized as Westside Gunn Day in Buffalo, New York, following a proclamation issued by then-Mayor Byron Brown in 2019 honoring the artist’s contributions to music, culture, and the Buffalo community. The shoe will be available in unisex sizing 3.5–12, 13, and 14 for $225 USD.
