Outstanding shoe! - by , Dec 26, 2016

The perfect balance: lightweight, flexible upper with a sock-like fit with just the right amount of support. The full Everrun midsole also provides the perfect combination of cushioning and responsiveness.

I was allowed to try out these running shoes when a local running store gave them out during a group run as a part of their promotion to sell the new Freedom ISO. I had been running in Nike and Brooks in the past and always thought the pain in my toes was a normal part of running. The wider toe front of this shoe changed all that. No pain either during or after my run, and it was a super comfortable shoe. I told my wife that I had to have these shoes. With a little bit of Holiday luck and discounts, I was able to purchase the Freedom ISO. I've run in them few times now, and i think they are just great! I am officially on the Saucony band wagon and will continue to buy from them in the future.

I am an avid Brooks runner of the Pure Flow. Using that shoe as a comparison, I decided to look for a shoe with some of the same characteristics. (haven't been happy with the changes made to that shoe) The Freedom has the same 4mm drop and weight is almost spot on. The Freedom was a shoe I could take out of the box and run 10 miles. No need to break in. It is a sharp looking shoe and I love the color. The shoe is fast and responsive and forms to my foot well. I have the flattest feet out there and these shoes flex well enough to accommodate my wide feet. The toe box has plenty of room for me. The only other Saucony shoe I have ever tried on was the Kinvara and those were to narrow so I never bought those. I was hesitant in trying these on but the toe box and width work well with my feet. (the flexible material allows for this) The material does feel a little too stretchy and the shoe moves on me a little. I am still trying to dial in my laces to see what the best way to tie them for me to fix this issue. I do think the heel cup is too soft. Lacks structure but despite this fact the shoe does not slip on my heel. This shoe is like a sock that wraps well around your foot. It feels weird at first because I'm used to a shoe with more structure for the body of the shoe and the material used. It is a soft ride that I am enjoying the more I run in them. The traction on the shoe is pretty good too even in the rain. The tread seems to be holding well after about 40 miles in. Love how the tongue is part of the entire shoe and doesn't move on me at all. I am excited to see how this shoe develops for me on my runs. I do think the price is too high. If I buy a second pair I will look for them on sale or check to see what the Brooks Pure Flow 6 price point is to see if I want to go back. I am curious to see how this shoe will feel on my long runs greater than 14 miles. Haven't tried these beyond 10 miles.

Won't buy another shoe! - by , Feb 01, 2017

These shoes fit great and look great! I've owned these shoes for nearly a month now and have logged close to 120 miles. I have felt no breakdown in these shoes and they have held up very well for me. These shoes are extremely responsive and keep my knees feeling great even after a long run. I am 190lbs and usually have problems finding a shoe that doesn't wear out very fast, you will not be disappointed with this purchase!

"Grippie, Cushioned, Light Weight"! - by , Feb 02, 2017

I haven't had new running shoes in over 4 years (I realize this may elevate my rating thoughts). I had a splint feeling in my foot running on New Balance's Minims Viburnum and prompted me to purchase some new running shoes. I ran 8 miles the first day and had a great experience from start to finish, maintaining stride, time with less knee and ankle soreness and more muscular utilization, It feels great to use more muscle to propel myself rather than stabilize impact! I was concerned about uneven roads, sidewalks and rocks with this much cushion but the sole was durable. Only a few times I had to cross grass or dirt where the shoe becomes a bit unstable where I had to slow my pace, but they are advertised as a pavement running shoe. I'm excited to train harder and gain more with the advancements this shoe truly offers!

Great for Fast Paced Runs - by , Feb 14, 2017

I usually run in the Hurricane's for long distance runs but I wanted something for days of less miles/faster paced runs and the Freedom's deliver! I wear wides in Hurricane's and I sized up half a size since there isn't a wide offered yet.

I have been running in another brand for the past two years and was extremely pleased from the second I put them on. I have a narrower foot, and love the fit! These would be great for anyone who runs half or full marathons and likes a lightweight cushioned shoe for reasonably long runs. Will buy again!
