A half-mile west of Walden Pond, these woods were a favorite of Henry David Thoreau. Tall pines tower over ferns and trails padded with pine straw. 13 Bridges Trail, Rockefeller State Park Preserve - Pleasantville, NY
This 1.9-mile trail loop through a lush hardwood forest crosses Gory Brook 13 times. With every turn comes another bridge. Might as well be In Madison County!
