One of the most exciting milestones for parents are their baby’s first steps.  However, these first steps into toddler years can also come with a flood of questions.  How do I pick the best shoes for my kid?  How do I measure my kid’s feet?  How frequently should I purchase new shoes?  At Saucony, we design kids shoes with features and benefits that give kids the confidence they need to get up and go.  Parents can feel good about letting their kids do what they do best: run and play.  The newest member of the Saucony Originals family, the Jazz Riff, is specifically engineered for proper foot development and optimal fit.

Here we will explore how the new Jazz Riff collection will have your little one up and running for good:

GOOD FIT WITH EASY ON/OFF
It’s more common for toddlers to have wider feet, so the Jazz Riff was built on a more generous last and features an extended strap length with gore for adjustability.  The closure on the Riff has the look of real laces but is a cleverly disguised easy to open closure. The strap provides a wide opening making it easier to put on chubby toddler feet.

LIGHTWEIGHT, FLEXIBLE, AND COMFY
We increased the number of flex grooves on the bottom of the sneaker for more flexibility and to allow for more natural movement.  The Jazz Riff has a 0mm drop for a closer to the ground, barefoot feel, plus there’s a plush memory foam footbed for comfort.  These shoes feel good.

MACHINE WASHABLE
The Jazz Riff is machine washable. Make sure the strap is closed on both sneakers. Use a clean cloth to wipe off any caked-on dirt. Toss in an empty washer with either liquid or powder detergent. Wash with cold water on a gentle cycle. Remove and air dry.  Good as new!

PUTTING SHOES ON THE RIGHT FEET
The smiley face tab, located on the inward side of each sneaker can be used as a training tool for kids. When the smiley faces smile at each other, the shoes are on the right feet.  Kids will want to keep these shoes on for good.

APMA CERTIFIED
The APMA is the American Podiatric Medical Association and the leading resource for information on foot health. The Jazz Riff received the APMA Seal of Acceptance. To earn the seal, each product is reviewed by a group of APMA podiatrists to ensure it promotes good foot health.

MEASURING KIDS FEET
Kids feet can grow up to a half size every 2-4 months, so it’s important to measure kids’ feet regularly. One way to do it is to download our kids sizing guide.
